Natural Wines

Although at Bodegas Quitapenas we do not make natural wines, it is important to clarify some differences that exist with this wine since it often generates confusion with other types of wines, such as organic, ecological wines and even vegan wines.

The natural wines They are characterized by minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the winery, using only the grape to achieve a natural balance. This requires grapes of excellent quality and health.

Unlike organic wines, natural wines do not contain any added preservatives. sulfur dioxide for its conservation, except for that which is generated naturally during alcoholic fermentation.

Organic Wines

Organic wines, also called “organic”, are wines that are produced following sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

The techniques involved in making organic wines reduce environmental impact and promote soil health.

Some criteria that define organic wines are: cultivation without synthetic chemicals, natural winemaking process, organic certification.

Chemical-free farming means that grapes are grown without synthetic pesticides and instead natural techniques such as composting are used.

The fermentation and winemaking process also respects ecological principles, ceasing to use chemicals to stabilise the wine.

Likewise, the wine must meet certain cultivation and production standards established by regulatory bodies to obtain its organic certification and the label that is added to the bottle to differentiate it from others.
