Tinto Finca Ernite: A Treasure from Bodegas Quitapenas

In the world of wine, few experiences are as rewarding as discovering a new gem that captivates the senses and enriches the palate. We present the latest creation from Bodegas Quitapenas, the Tinto Finca Ernite. This red wine with the Sierras de Málaga Designation of Origin is a true work of art that reflects the dedication and passion for wine.

Below, we invite you to learn more about this exquisite wine and why it deserves a prominent place in your collection.

History and Meaning of the Name “Finca Ernite”

The name “Finca Ernite” has deep historical and emotional roots. It comes from the estate that belonged to the founder of Bodegas Quitapenas in Cútar, which had to be abandoned in 1878 due to the devastating phylloxera plague. This name not only connects us with the origins of the winery, but also keeps alive the memory of the Suárez family, who originally owned the estate, which still exists today.

Furthermore, the name Ernite refers to a mineral prized in jewellery for its similarity to the crystals used in high-end costume jewellery. For this reason, the bottle label features a diamond, symbolising the value of this exceptional wine.

The Grapes of the Ernite Estate

Finca Ernite is made from Tempranillo grapes grown in vineyards located at an altitude of 700 metres in the Serranía de Ronda, in the province of Málaga. The production of this wine begins with a careful selection of the best plots, ensuring that only grapes of exceptional quality are used.

The grapes are harvested manually at dawn to prevent oxidation, thus ensuring the freshness and quality of the grapes. During the ripening process, regular checks are carried out to ensure that the pulp, skin and seeds are at their optimum. This is crucial to achieving the wine's distinctive colour, flavour and character.
