βπ·ππππ ππ π·ππ ππ πΏππΓ©πππβ is a phrase we hear daily from our customers at the Bodegas Quitapenas store and that in many cases can cause confusion. But it's worth remembering that ππππ§π€ πππ’Γ©π£ππ― is not a type of wine, but a grape variety with which we make different styles in the winery.
If when you hear Pedro XimΓ©nez you only think of sweet wine, you will be surprised to know that this grape can also be used to make dry wines. This is usually the most common mistake, associating the Pedro XimΓ©nez or PX grape only with sweet wines. For example, our ππππΌπππ, an organic dry white wine 100% Pedro XimΓ©nez. It's a very mineral, dense wine with an incredible tear. Perfect for your meals by the sea.

Another of our oenological jewels is the πππππ§ππ©π ππͺππ©ππ₯ππ£ππ¨, made with a 90% Pedro XimΓ©nez grape. It's a semi-sweet wine with a very different profile than the previous one. This amber-colored wine, with aromas of nuts and hazelnuts, reminds you of raisins and caramel. Ideal as an aperitif, it goes perfectly with cheeses and cold cuts.

And, of course, our iconic ππͺππ©ππ₯ππ£ππ¨ ππ‘πππ, a sweet liqueur wine made with 100% Pedro XimΓ©nez. This is the βπ·ππππ ππ π·ππ ππ πΏππππβ par excellence. Normally when people order a PX, they are relating it to this type of wine. Its aroma reminds you of toffee caramel and dried figs. An ideal sweet wine for dessert, the perfect companion for your cheesecake.

In addition, this grape is present in many other references: π½πππππππ πΈπππππππππ, 1670 π«ππππ π·πΏ π¬πππΓ³ππππ, 1670 π·πππππππ π¬πππΓ³ππππ, πΆππ π½ππππ, π΄Γ‘ππππ π·πΏ π΅ππππ, π΄Γ‘ππππ π³ππππ, π΄Γ‘ππππ πΊππππ and π½ππππ π¨πππππ. All of these wines are made from the Pedro XimΓ©nez grape.
π So, the next time you say π·ππππ ππ π·ππ ππ πΏππΓ©πππ, you already know that PX is the grape, and with it you can create countless wines... dry and sweet.
